How should faith and reason relate? In this mini-course, we shall take a look at what the Bible has to say about faith and reason. We shall examine how the relationship is understood by theologians who advocate what is known as the classical method of apologetics, and contrast this with other approaches such as fideism, presuppositionalism, reformed epistemology, and radical postmodernism. In addition to exploring the Biblical and theological foundations for the Christian viewpoint, we shall also examine the issues from historical, philosophical and scientific perspectives. This will help us learn from the successes and failures of Christians in the past, and equip us to face contemporary challenges in various academic disciplines.
The course will be held over four weeks:
8th February (Wednesday),
15th February (Wednesday),
20th February (Monday),
1st March (Wednesday).
